I was talking with the paintings I was making. I would say for example, here is a tree, next to it a monster and what I was saying I was simultaneously drawing and my hand obeyed. So I created my stories.
With the term painting in Alexis Akrithakis' oeuvre are all works described that have been realised on canvases or wood by the means of oil or acrylic paint. Paintings of large or small scale were produced by him systematically throughout his career. The themes in his paintings vary from trademark motives of his work like the complicated writing "tsiki-tsiki", the suitcase, arrows, figures, to abstract and expressionistic gestures.
